Course Overview

Three days to renew, instead of five to start again

Your FREC 3 lasts three years. Requalify before it expires and you need three days rather than five.

Trained with us before? Save 10%. Returning learners get a 10% loyalty discount on this refresher. Most receive a reminder with the code before their certificate expires. If you have not had yours, call 01325 609030.

The course covers the same regulated content as the full award, at the pace of someone who already knows it.

Taught in Stockton-on-Tees by clinicians working in pre-hospital care. Medipro has trained over 10,000 learners and is rated Good by Ofsted.

All our prices include VAT, so what you see is what you pay.

You can add the following services when booking your course. None is included in the course fee, and prices are shown during checkout.

Accommodation

Add the number of nights you need at our learner rate. We book the room, confirm it with you and settle it with the hotel, so it is one checkout rather than two bookings. See the Accommodation section below for rates and what is included.

FREC 4

The Level 4 Certificate, the next step after FREC 3. Read more about FREC 4.

Prices for all optional services are shown during checkout.

Three days of practical refresher training and assessment.

  • Scene safety, patient assessment and communication
  • CPR, AED use and advanced airway management
  • Bleeding control and trauma management
  • Spinal immobilisation and major incident response
  • Common medical emergencies including stroke, diabetes, seizures and asthma
  • Use of emergency medical equipment and casualty handling

How you are assessed

  • Continuous practical assessment across the three days
  • Written assessment
  • Clinical scenario assessment

What you will hold on completion

  • FutureQuals Level 3 Award in First Response Emergency Care (RQF), valid a further three years

You need a FREC 3 certificate that has not yet expired. We accept certificates from any recognised awarding organisation, not only our own.

If yours has lapsed, call us. Depending on how long it has been, requalification may still be an option rather than the full five-day course.

There are several ways to pay, and a few ways to pay less.

Secure your place with a 20% deposit

You do not need to pay in full to book. Pay 20% at checkout and secure your place on the date you want. The balance is due before your course starts.

Pay in full with Klarna

Choose Klarna at checkout and spread the cost on Klarna’s terms. Your place is paid in full and confirmed straight away. Subject to Klarna’s eligibility checks.

12-month payment plan

Pay across twelve monthly instalments at 0% interest. Speak to our team before booking to set this up.

ELCAS funding

Service leavers may be able to claim up to 80% of the course fee through ELCAS. We are an approved provider and can help with the paperwork.

Multiple booking discount

Employers booking four or more learners receive 15% off the total, including any optional services added at checkout.

Returning learners

Trained with us before? When you come back to requalify, take 10% off your refresher.

Course fee money-back guarantee

Attend the course, complete the learning and follow your tutor’s guidance. If you still do not pass, we refund your course fee. On eligible courses.

Staying overnight

Travelling to us from outside Teesside? We have agreed learner rates with the Sporting Lodge Inn at Stainton, a 5 to 10 minute drive from our Stockton-on-Tees centre, with easy access from the A19 and A174.

  • £75 per night – bed and breakfast
  • £95 per night – dinner, bed and breakfast, including a two-course evening meal and a drink

Both rates include free on-site parking and free use of the hotel gym and 25-metre pool. There is a pub and restaurant on site.

These rates are only available through us, not directly with the hotel. Add the nights you need to your checkout when you book your course, and we will arrange it and confirm the details with you.

Rooms are subject to availability, so book as early as you can. Plans change, so if you need to cancel your room, do so up to 24 hours before arrival and we will refund it.

What does the FREC 3 requalification cost?

£350 including VAT for the three days, against £480 for the full five-day award. Book with a 20% deposit.

My FREC 3 has expired. Can I still requalify?

Call us. Depending on how long it has been, requalification may still be possible rather than sitting the full five-day course again.

When should I book?

Before your expiry date. Once it lapses your options narrow, so give yourself a few weeks.

How long is the renewed certificate valid?

Three years from the date of issue.

I trained elsewhere. Can I requalify with you?

Yes, as long as you hold a valid FREC 3 from a recognised awarding organisation.

Do I need to bring anything?

Your current FREC 3 certificate. We will confirm anything else when you book.

Is there a discount if I trained with you originally?

Yes, 10% for returning learners. Employers booking four or more get 15% off the total.

Where is it held?

Stockton-on-Tees, close to the A66 and A19, with easy reach from Middlesbrough, Darlington, Durham and Newcastle.

Over 10,000 people have begun their clinical career with us.

We support NHS ambulance services, dental practices, community pharmacies, care providers and offshore operators. Here is what some of them say.
