Somewhere to study, and help when technology gets in the way
Not everyone has a quiet desk at home or a reliable laptop. Faraday House is set up so you can study on site, and our team can sort out most access problems the same day.
At Faraday House
The centre is open 8.00 to 17.00, Monday to Friday. Study space outside timetabled sessions is by arrangement, so let your tutor or reception know when you want to come in.
Online resources
Course materials, reading lists and recorded sessions sit in your learning platform, so you can study from anywhere. Where a programme needs journal articles or e-books, your tutor provides access through the platform or points you to free sources such as NHS Knowledge and Library Hub access through your employer.
Academic writing support
If you have not written an assignment for years, you are not alone. Our academic writing support helps with structure, referencing and getting your thinking onto the page. Ask your tutor to arrange it.
IT help
We support two platforms. Apprentices use Aptem for their portfolio, reviews and off-the-job record. Commercial course learners use Arlo for bookings, joining instructions and course communications. See Learning Platforms: Aptem and Arlo for how each works.
Working safely online
Our E-Safety and Acceptable Use guidance is in your Learner Handbook. In short: keep your login private, think before you share anything about patients or placements, and tell us if you see anything online that worries you.
