Ask questions

Employers like it when you ask questions, show enthusiasm, be thoughtful and inquisitive. Pre prepare them so they are in the front of your mind. Consider things such as:

  • Workplace culture or environment
  • Future opportunities
  • What does a typical day look like?
  • What are the next steps in the recruitment process?
  • Why should I work for you? (a personal favourite of ours)

Be yourself… Take copies of your CV and certificates and always prepare your travel arrangements.

Follow up

After completing your interview, don’t forget the crucial follow-up! Crafting a thoughtful post-interview email can make all the difference. Start by expressing gratitude for the opportunity and reiterating your interest in the job. Then, showcase your attentiveness by referencing a key discussion point that resonated with you and link it to your skills and passions. Finally, extend an invitation for further dialogue and sign off with anticipation for their response.
