Preparing for Interview
Interview preparation is key to securing your apprenticeship. Whether you’re applying for roles in healthcare, dental, pharmacy, or pre-hospital care, your confidence, attitude, and preparation will make a big difference.
What Employers Look For
Employers want to know:
- Why you’re interested in the apprenticeship
- What you understand about the role and sector
- That you’re committed, reliable, and willing to learn
They’re not expecting perfection—they’re looking for potential.
Before the Interview
Do your research:
Look into the employer, their services, and the apprenticeship role. Make notes of things that interest you or align with your career goals.
Know your application:
Review your CV and application form so you can speak confidently about your experience, education, and reasons for applying.
Prepare answers to common questions:
- Why do you want this apprenticeship?
- What do you know about the role?
- What are your strengths and areas to improve?
- How do you handle pressure or teamwork?
Plan your journey or tech setup:
If it’s in person, know where you’re going and arrive early. If it’s online, test your video, audio, and internet connection in advance.
Discover your next career.
