The IMCA Diver Medic Technician (DMT) Course is the recognised standard for divers and diving support personnel who may be required to provide emergency medical care in hyperbaric or offshore environments.

The Medipro DMT programme is uniquely delivered in two parts:
1. Online Theory Phase
Study at your own pace with access to:
- Core diving medicine theory
- Hyperbaric hazards and decompression illness
- Diving physiology and environmental risks
- Emergency scenarios and incident management
- Online tutor support throughout

2. 5-Day Practical Skills Phase
Delivered at our clinical training centre and includes:
- Advanced first aid and trauma care
- Oxygen administration and IV access
- AED and airway management
- Burns, fractures, spinal injuries
- Hyperbaric chamber operations and procedures
- Emergency evacuation and diver recovery drills

- Diving-related illnesses and decompression sickness
- Medical emergencies in hyperbaric conditions
- Scene safety and communication offshore
- Use of emergency medical equipment
- Safe handling of casualties in confined or remote environments
- Documentation and handover to onshore medical teams
- Primary survey, casualty management and drug administration
There will be both theoretical and practical assessments within the course. Upon successful completion learners will be awarded the following:
– IMCA Diver Medic Technician certificate valid for 2 years
– MediPro First Aid at Work certificate valid for 3 years
– Emergency oxygen for divers certificate valid for 3 years
To qualify for the IMCA Diver Medic qualification, applicants must hold an offshore qualification in diving.
This can be an LST, diving supervisor or diving qualification recognised by IMCA. However, if you do not hold a suitable offshore diving qualification but would like to attend the course, please contact us for further information.
