A mental health first aid online course for the workplace

Early support can stop a difficult week becoming a long absence. This mental health first aid online course prepares staff to notice problems and respond. It also shows managers how to set up a workplace support scheme.

The course has seven video modules and lasts 90 minutes. It focuses on stress and the roles of employers, managers and staff. Please note this is not the MHFA England course.

Why choose this course?

✔ Workplace focus – built around real duties of employers, managers and staff

✔ Stress covered in depth – how to recognise it before it escalates

✔ Approved by Gatehouse Awards, CPD and IIRSM – earns 3 CPD units

✔ Free trial – try the format before you enrol

This mental health first aid online course is split into seven short modules.

  • What mental health first aid is – its purpose and why it matters at work
  • Common mental health issues – what they look like and the value of early help
  • Stress – causes, signs and links to wider ill health
  • The employer’s role – duties to protect staff wellbeing
  • The manager’s role – spotting concerns and starting a support programme
  • The employee’s role – looking after yourself and supporting colleagues
  • Wellness strategy – how to build and sustain a workplace wellbeing plan

The course suits employees who want to support colleagues at work. It also suits supervisors, managers and HR leads planning a workplace mental health first aid programme. It works in offices, care settings, retail and public services.

Training a team? We can help.

Many care providers, NHS teams and employers use our eLearning to keep staff training current. A business account lets you buy courses in bulk, assign them to staff and track completion in one place. That gives you a clear record for audits and inspections.

Since 2008, Medipro has trained thousands of health and care professionals in the classroom and online. We can help you build a training plan that mixes eLearning with practical, tutor-led courses at our centres.

Pairs well with our Mental Health First Aid and Workplace Mental Health Policy courses.

Is this the MHFA England course?

No. This course is produced by VideoTile Learning, not MHFA England. Completing it does not make you an MHFA England Mental Health First Aider.

Can I take a mental health first aid online course and support colleagues?

Yes. The course gives you the knowledge to notice concerns and respond. Your employer decides how the role works and who you refer people to.

How often should mental health first aid training be refreshed?

There is no legal requirement for this training. Many employers refresh it annually or every 1–3 years, depending on policy.
