Lead Adult Care Workers play a vital role in supporting individuals with care needs, promoting independence, and ensuring high-quality care provision. The Level 3 Lead Adult Care Worker Apprenticeship equips apprentices with the leadership, communication, and practical care skills needed to work in residential, nursing, domiciliary, and community care settings.

This apprenticeship is ideal for care providers, NHS Trusts, and social care organisations looking to develop competent and compassionate care leaders who provide high standards of adult care.

This programme develops highly skilled adult care leaders who can provide quality care, support colleagues, and ensure compliance with regulations. Key learning areas include:

  • Regulatory & Ethical Responsibilities – Understanding CQC standards, duty of care, and adult safeguarding legislation.

Apprentices will also gain Maths and English Level 2 qualifications (if not already achieved).

By the end of the programme and to become a Lead Adult Care Worker, Apprentices must have achieved the following:

Apprentices must also meet the 15 standards set out in the Care Certificate.

Apprentices need to be 16 or older and working in residential, domiciliary or community care setting.

✔ Government Funding Guidance – We help you access the funding you’re entitled to. From August 2026, training for apprentices aged 16 to 24 is fully funded for smaller (non-levy) employers, with no contribution from you. For those aged 25 and over, co-investment applies.

✔ £2,000 Employer Payment – From October 2026, non-levy employers can claim £2,000 for each new apprentice they take on aged 16 to 24, paid in two instalments.

✔ No National Insurance Contributions – Employers pay no NI for apprentices under 25, up to the upper earnings threshold (currently £50,270).

✔ Regular Progress Reviews – Ensuring your apprentice develops in line with health and social care standards.

✔ Dedicated Safeguarding Support – 24/7 access to our learner safeguarding app for wellbeing support.
