Is this the Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training?
No. The Health and Care Act 2022 requires CQC-registered providers to train staff in learning disability and autism. The Oliver McGowan programme is the government’s recommended training for this. Use this course as extra awareness learning, and check your employer’s requirements.
Does autism awareness training online cover adults?
Yes. The examples focus on children, but the knowledge applies across all ages. It suits staff in adult services too.
Will I learn how to diagnose autism?
No. Diagnosis is made by a specialist team. The course explains the process so you can support a person and their family through it.
