Job Summary
We have an exciting new opportunity for an Accounts Assistant/Bookkeeper to join our team in the Stockton-on-Tees area.
The successful candidate will support all finance matters within MediPro. You will report to the Head of Finance and support the management team on an adhoc basis.
Ideally the successful candidate will be studying towards AAT/equivalent or qualified by experience. You will need excellent Microsoft office skills and demonstrate competence in Sage Accounts and Sage Payroll. You will need to have high attention to detail and show good initiative. You will have excellent communication skills.

Job Purpose
We are seeking an Ambitious Account Assistant/Bookkeeper to join the finance team. This opportunity will allow the successful candidate the exposure to a range of tasks and responsibilities. The role includes supporting monthly management accounts & month end processes and provide variance analysis. The role will also require you to manage sales, invoices, receipts, and bank reconciliation in a timely manner.
Main Duties
- To work unsupervised and report to the HoF on a timely basis.
- To display competence in Sage Accounts, Sage Payroll and Microsoft Office.
- To input and carry out reconciliations of all accounting records.
- To calculate monthly accruals, prepayments, accrued income and deferred income.
- To prepare detailed monthly management accounts and provide variance analysis.
- To support the preparation of quarterly VAT returns.
- To help prepare year-end statutory accounts, liaising with accountants as required.
- To process monthly payslips in compliance with HMRC legislation and employee tax notifications.
- To maintain workplace pension and submit payroll RTI returns.
- To manage sales invoices, receipts and bank reconciliation.
- To carry out credit control duties.
- To prepare timely detailed cash flow forecasts and manage all bank payments.
- To maintain filing system for all accounting records and review/improve policies and procedures where necessary.

Essential
- Experience in managing accounts and providing variance analysis.
- Experience of calculating monthly accruals, prepayments, accrued income and deferred income.
- Good knowledge of VAT returns.
- Awareness of Health and Safety Legislation.
- Stable employment record.
- Maintaining Fixed Asset.
- Register/HP schedules and calculate periodic depreciation, amortization and loan interest.

- Providing detailed costing/profit analysis for tender applications.
